Only Labour will fight for NHS and local services in Stoke, says UNISON

Commenting on the Stoke-on-Trent by-election tomorrow (Thursday) UNISON general secretary Dave Prentis said:

“Local services in Stoke are under real pressure thanks to mismanagement by the local council and the impact of government policies.

“When I was in the city earlier this week local people kept telling me about how council services are on the brink and the local health service is facing huge cuts.

“The last thing the people of Stoke need is Paul Nuttall – a man who can’t be trusted – representing them in Parliament. Whether it’s where he lives or even the Hillsborough disaster, he’s a serial fibber.

“Labour’s Gareth Snell will fight for our NHS and your local services. You can’t trust UKIP or the Tories to keep their election promises.”

Notes to editors:
– Gareth Snell is the Labour Party candidate for the Stoke-on-Trent by-election.
