HE meeting provides no immediate resolution

An extraordinary meeting with higher education employers today, failed to immediately resolve the dispute between UNISON, UCU, Unite and EIS and the university employers over pay.

But both sides have agreed to maintain channels of communication and will explore further whether a resolution can be achieved.

UNISON members in higher education, alongside their colleagiues in the other three unions, are preparing for a second day of industrial action as part of the dispute over the employer’s final pay offer of 1%.

Members from all four unions took part in a day of strike action on 31 October 2013 and a follow-on day is planned for 3 December 2013.

New industrial action material is available for UNSION branches and activists to order, including leaflets, posters and placards. You can order these through our online catalogue, or by emailing stockorders@unison.co.uk and making sure you include the stock number(s), quantities needed and a delivery address.
