Probation day of action fliers available

UNISON members will be joining colleagues in Napo and the GMB on a day of protes for the probation service on 30 May – the last working day of the service as we know it in England and Wales.

The government is breaking it up up into a new National Probation Service and 21 dommunity rehabilitation companies. These companies will then be sold to the private sector in the autumn.

The day of protest is jointly organised by UNISON, Napo and the GMB to draw public attention to the government’s plans and why they are so dangerous.

The three unions have produced a joint union flier for the day of ptoest – the printing of dispatch of which is being co-ordinated by Napo.

UNISON branches should liaise with their local Napo counterpart to agree with them how you are going to share and use the leaflets on the day.

80,000 copies of the leaflet have been printed, which should be enough to go round.
