Supporting branches – online events coming soon

A series of online Q&A sessions on the future of branches in UNISON is part of the union’s branch resources review

As part of UNISON’s review into how the union supports its branches and how they, in turn, can best support members, a series of special online events is taking place, starting on Wednesday 27 April.

The two-year branch resources review period has seen a lot of meetings and feedback, with over 1,700 activists consulted on the best way to make the union’s branch structure fairer and sustainable for the future.

President Josie Bird said: “It’s been a comprehensive and detailed look at our union at all levels – this report is the culmination of that work. All the proposals in the report have been informed by comments and suggestions made by you – the activists on the ground.

“I am confident that it will make a significant contribution to making the life of a busy activist simpler, and enhance the support provided to members.”

If you’d like to know more about the branch resources review, please come along to one of the interactive events taking place online over the coming weeks.

The first, on 27 April, is Supporting our branches: an introduction to the branch resources review. Please save the date – more details will be released soon.
