UNISON’s national executive council (NEC) has agreed to nominate Christina McAnea in the upcoming general secretary election.
Christina is the union’s assistant general secretary for negotiations, bargaining and equalities.
In this role she oversees collective bargaining and negotiations across all of the union’s service groups, along with the work of the equality groups including women, Black members, disabled members, LGBT+ and young members and retired members.
Christina has worked for UNISON for over 25 years. She is one of the UK’s most senior women trade unionists and negotiators.
