A fresh round of UNISON recruitment advertising kicks off next week, starting on 21 September and will run for some six weeks.
TV adverts start on 21 September and will be nationwide on a mix of satellite and terrestrial channels as before.
Newspaper adverts will run in the Metro newspapers nationwide on Mondays 28 September, 5 October, 12 October and 19 October. The adverts have been updated to focus on the fact that we recruit best on Mondays – so they will encourage people to act on their Monday morning blues or good intentions and join a union.
There will be a further small pilot of local radio advertising in Liverpool, Greater Manchester, County Durham, Salford, St Helens, Trafford, Wigan, Sunderland and Newcastle on a range of stations mostly during peak breakfast and drivetime slots on Mondays to Fridays.
Throughout this period, digital advertising will run.
The ads have been scheduled to support local and regional recruitment activity and take advantage of the union’s higher profile, given the TUC and Labour conferences, the TUC demonstration in Manchester and the continued campaigning around the Trade Union Bill.
