Youth and community workers accept pay offer

UNISON youth and community members in England, Wales and Northern Ireland have voted to accept the employer’s final pay offer of 2.2%, in a consultation carried out through branches.

The increase applies to basic salary and allowances and runs from 1 March 2015 to 31 August 2016.

Members of the other unions on the joint negotiating council (JNC) – Unite, UCU and NUT – have also voted to accept the offer.

UNISON branches will now work with local employers to make sure the increase, including back pay to 1 March, is implemented and paid as soon as possible.

The union’s national youth and community workers committee will meet over the summer to discuss developing a longer term pay strategy for 2016 on.
