UNISON comments on Nicholson’s warning on NHS funding

Commenting today (Thursday) on Sir David Nicholson’s warning on NHS funding, UNISON head of health, Christina McAnea, said: “This government should be ashamed of saving money on the backs of workers who have suffered years of pay freezes and relentless attacks on their living standards.

“Instead of developing a solid workforce strategy, and planning for the challenges brought by an ageing population ministers embarked on the most pointless and costly reorganisation in the NHS’ history, wasting billions of taxpayers’ money.

“The financial difficulties of the NHS will only spiral out of control if this government remains in charge after May.”
