HCPC seeks new chair of the council

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is looking for a new chair of its council.

UNISON is the leading union for most of the registered professionals covered by the HCPC and our members may be interested in this vacancy.

The HCPC are looking for “someone with experience of providing strong non-executive leadership who is able to uphold the principles of transparency and accountability in all of the HCPC’s activities”, who will “act as an ambassador for the council, inspiring confidence in the organisation and promoting the organisation’s central commitment to public protection.”

The HCPC is the regulator of health and care professionals and helps to protect the public. It keepsa register of health, psychological and social work professionals who meet training, professional skills and behaviour standards.

Candidates must either be on the HCPC register or be an existing member of council.

An attendance allowance of £320 per day and incurred expenses is payable for the role. The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 23 March 2015 and interviews will be held between 21 and 23 April 2015.
