Have your say – local government members urged

UNISON has today reminded local government and school members in England, Wales and Northern Ireland that the consultation on the revised NJC pay proposals begins tomorrow, Thursday 16 October and that they face a clear choice to accept the proposals or reject and take sustained action.

“We want UNISON members to have their say,” said UNISON  local government NJC committee vice chair Jane Iles, as she urged those members affected to user their vote. “And they will be able to vote from tomorrow.

“It will be a clear choice to accept the proposals or reject them. But it’s crucial that members know that if they reject the proposals they will need to take sustained industrial action.”

In line with the consultation procedures agreed by the union’s local government conference, UNISON branches are being asked to carry out local ballots of all members whose pay is determined by the NJC, including those who were not included in the ballot for industrial action.

An outline of the proposals for 2014-16 is available for members below. And any updates on the proposals will be posted on the website.
