Canal and River Trust makes final offer

The Canal and River Trust has made a final pay offer for this year of:

  • a consolidated increase of 2% on pay bands, effective from 1 July;
  • a 2% increase to the inner and outer London allowances;
  • a 4.2% increase to the standby payment, taking the allowance to £125;
  • 2 January as an additional leave day for 2015 only, or a suitable alternative for those on annualised hours.

The offer came at a meeting with UNISON and Unite on 7 May, where the trust also said it was prepared to talk about the possibility of signing up to the living wage.

However, it said it will not break the link between personal development reviews and pay, and also refused an additional one-day increase in annual leave.

The unions believe that this is the best offer that can currently be achieved by negotiations and are asking members to vote on whether or not to accept it.
