Get set to make a noise about NHS pay

UNISON members are getting ready to make as much noise as possible about the need for a decent pay deal – and those who work in the NHS are no exception.

After a miserly pay offer of just 1%, the TUC’s Fair Pay Fortnight, which starts today and runs until 6 April, gives us the ideal opportunity to raise awareness about Britain’s cost-of-living crisis.

UNISON will be using the fortnight to demonstrate the anger that its members are feeling around recent announcements around pay, and showing how holding down NHS pay will have an impact on patients and staff morale.

On 3 April, we will be specifically focusing on NHS pay and we want as many health branches and workers to get involved as possible.

UNISON wants branches – working with other staff side unions, patient groups and campaigning organisations – to hold regional and local activities around the NHS.

There will be activities taking place across the country, while the TUC is also launching a petition.

Campaign briefings are being sent out to all branches, including a raft of suggestions for activities on 3 April and details of available resources – so contact your branch to find out what it’s planning and how can do to get involved.

And don’t forget to send any information about what you’re planning by email to
