NHS Property Services begins consultation

NHS Property Services today began a formal consultation on its business redesign after a decision was reached that its current design is not capable of meeting the challenges created by the economic environment and the way in which the NHS is being reorganised.

The consultation will run for 45 days, closing on Monday 10 March 2014. The process of consultation is one that UNISON will be engaged in at all levels, at a local, regional and national level.

The joint staff side will be responding to the consultation at a national level and we want to ensure that all UNISON members are informed of the proposal, and to allow the affected members the opportunity to respond and take an active role in this consultation.

If you are an affected member you need to feed into the consultation process through your local or regional UNISON representative.

If you are unsure of who your local representative is, please contact UNISON direct on 0800 0 857 857.

The consultation process is being managed in line with NHS Property Service’s management-of-change policy, which has been negotiated over the last six months at a national partnership level and is posted on the NHS Property Services intranet.

UNISON wants to reassure our NHS Property Services members that they will be fully engaged in any consultation and be able to put their views forward. There will be national as well as local consultations in which all the unions involved will be seeking fair and transparent treatment for their members.

The trade unions have worked with NHS Property Services on a full consultation document, which will outline the steps to be taken to reduce the number of compulsory redundancies. UNISON is here to support you through this process nationally and locally.

If you have any questions please do get in touch. If you have any general comments about the redesign or policies, contact your local NHS Property Services rep or national officer Sian Rabi-Laleh on s.rabi-laleh@unsion.co.uk.
