Being a UNISON safety rep is one of the most rewarding roles in a trade union: that is the message of safety reps Claire Marriott and Sandra Williams in a new UNISON video aimed at recruiting union members to the job.
Ms Marriott said that “the cuts have made a difference to people’s health in the workplace with a lot more stress over people losing their jobs”.
Both praised the training UNISON gave to support them as safety reps, and Ms Williams added that she would like to see employers provide health and safety training for all their managers.
