Updated job evaluation scheme guidance and schools profiles have now been signed off by the local government national joint council and UNISON has arranged training to support their roll-out.
Public health profiles will shortly be available too. The training on offer is:
- Job evaluation – introduction to the NJC job evaluation scheme, including revisions to guidance notes, benchmarking, matching jobs to profiles, consistency checking and implementation issues;
- Pay and grading – factors to consider in developing a new pay and grading structure, analysing the results of job evaluation, drawing grade boundaries, setting the pay structure and carrying out an equal pay audit and equality impact assessment.
The training is aimed at senior activists involved in pay and grading and requires a prior understanding of equalities law.
To make sure we get the maximum number of people trained, UNSION has arranged four national courses on each topic, which are open to participants from all regions.
These courses will be held in central London and lunch will be provided. Participants will need to cover travel, subsistence and accommodation expenses from regional or branch funds as appropriate.
