Commenting on news that the Advertising Standards Authority is investigating the Government’s “Go Home” ad campaign following complaints from the public, Khadiee Campbell, UNISON’s National Officer for Race Equality, said:
“It is time these vile vans were driven off the street. The ‘Go Home’ message is frightening as well as offensive, and there is a clear danger that these vans stir up racial tension in the area.
“Banning the ads would be the right thing to do, but the fact that the Home Office think that this type of advertising is acceptable, shows how low this Government is prepared to stoop.”
