UNISON sends solidarity to Greek public service unions ahead of general strike tomorrow

UNISON general secretary Dave Prentis has sent a message of solidarity to Greek public service unions; who are holding a general strike tomorrow in protest at the Greek government’s austerity measures.

“UNISON understands that ADEDY and GSEE have called a general strike to protest against the latest measures adopted by the Greek government at the behest of the Troika,” wrote Mr Prentis.

“The working people of Greece have had to endure countless hardships in the name of the failed austerity policies being imposed upon them.

“On behalf of UNISON, I would like to send this message of support and solidarity and to wish you success in your actions.”
