UNISON’s eastern region reports that its “Big birthday weekend” in Cambridge was a huge success, marking 20 years of UNISON and 65 years of the NHS.
The weekend was organised to:
- acknowledge the challenges and changes UNISON’s members have faced over the last 20 years;
- showcase the successes and achievements of the union since it was created in 1993;
- demonstrate the union’s strength and determination to meet the challenges of the next 20 years and beyond;
- strengthen partnership working relationships between activists and staff;
- engage our lay committees and activists in collective action;
- promote UNISON as the public service trade union in the eastern region;
- celebrate 65 years of the NHS.
