Labour policy review calls for greater regulation of landlords

The Labour Party has published proposals on the private rented sector, which calls for greater regulation of landlords. The proposals aim to drive up standards within the Private Rented Sector.

They echo what UNISON and other organisations have called for – in the Housing Voice Report, this includes a call on councils to introduce landlord accreditation in the Private Rented Sector, a new statutory system of Private Rented Sector regulation, guaranteed minimum standards for tenants and increased security of tenure.
