UNISON and GMB members were out on the picket line for a second successive day at Hollingbury golf course in Brighton today, as they continued in their fights against a managament plan to axe a job and slash pay.
The green keepers are employed by Mytimeactive, which took over the running of the courses in 2009.
Although the company is “cash rich”, it wants to make a head green keeper redundant, and cut the pay of the rest of the team by 20% – approximately £4,000 a year.
Despite ongoing consultations with UNISON, Mytimeactive has refused to budge.
The union is now considering a range of options, including potential legal approaches, and calling in ACAS.
