Unions recommend acceptance of Canal River Trust offer

The trade unions met with Canal River Trust on 1 May 2013 to discuss the pay offer for CRT staff. The final offer which was made is:

  • a consolidated increase of 2.25% on pay bands effective 1 July, however, there will be no increase to the inner and out London allowances;
  • standby/call out, improvements will be discussed via the joint officers;
  • CRT refused to sever the links between individual PDRs and pay;
  • increase of two days annual leave was refused;
  • living wage campaign – CRT is prepared, via the joint officers, to enter into discussions of the possibilities of signing up to the living wage;
  • CRT has agreed to enter into discussions, via the joint officers, of a possible cycle scheme for staff.

The trade union side believes this is the best that can be achieved by negotiations, is a good offer for CRT members especially in the current economic climate and therefore recommend union members accept this offer.
