UNISON sends Halloween message to pay cartel

UNISON members in Taunton and Poole took a Halloween message to the south west pay cartel today.

Members at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton and at the Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust sent the chilling message to the South West Pay Consortium and one of its leaders, Jo Cubbon, who is the chief executive of the Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.

Dressed as skeletons and vampires to highlight the monstrosities that lie ahead for staff, patients and the South West economy if the pay consortium – dubbed a cartel by the unions – pushes ahead with its proposals to slash pay and terms and conditions by up to 15% for NHS staff across 20 South West NHS facilities.

The message was clear: ‘don’t strip the NHS to the bare bones’ and the ‘South West Pay Cartel, sucking the life blood out of the NHS’.
