So you came on the march … what next?

So you’ve been on the March for a Future that Works on 20 October and now you’re in the mood for activism. We’re asking everyone who came on the march to take further action in the coming days. This is just the beginning…

You can talk about it

  • talk to your friends, family and colleagues about why you went on the march;
  • if you’re part of a community group, a church or a sports group talk to the members of your group about it;
  • tell UNISON about what’s happening in your workplace and community;
  • share your experiences of campaigning.

You can do something about it

  • get involved in Living Wage week, taking place from 4 to 10 November;
  • make sure you vote for a candidate who supports public services in the police and crime commissioner elections ../../../stoppoliceprivatisation/pccElections.asp on 15 November;
  • use your skills to help a UNISON campaign: ask your branch how to get more involved and sign up to the skills bank;
  • encourage a colleague to become a UNISON rep or link;
  • ask any groups you belong to support your branch’s local actions against austerity;
  • sign the petition against austerity.
