UNISON South West is building the fight against the threat of regional pay in the NHS with 18 events across the region this month and running up to the March for the Future that Works in London, Glasgow and Belfast on 20 October.
The events kicked off today, with a morning lobby in Gloucester – and there will be a lobby of the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust’s annual board meeting, from 4pm this afternoon, outside Salisbury Arts Centre in Bedwin Street.
UNISON head of health Christina McAnea said: “I urge trust boards to reconsider being part of the cartel, and risking damaging staff morale and the service itself,” and she called on members and friends to support the events.
The programme will continue this Wednesday in Bath, where a lobby of the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Trust board meeting will take place, and in Truro, Cornwall on Thursday, where the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust Board is meeting and the Trust Annual General Meeting will be taking place.
