UNISON is putting its weight behind a new campaign to tackle homophobic bullying.
The campaign has been created by Show Racism the Red Card and was launched at UNISON Centre.
General secretary Dave Prentis said: “UNISON is proud to support Show Racism the Red Card and to host this launch event. Homophobic bullying is a very real problem in our schools.”
And of the campaign materials and education packs that are available, he commented: “I am confident that this resource will empower teachers and teaching assistants to challenge homophobic language and educate against homophobic attitudes.”
