The NHS will face many challenges in the coming years, not least the effects of the Health and Social Care Bill if passed tomorrow, but the many economic challenges as well. It is therefore vital that we maintain a strong voice for nursing at all levels.
The chief nursing officer on the national commissioning board is significant and UNISON welcomes the appointment of Jane Cummings to this role, whom we have a long established history of working with in the region and on national issues.
