More than 20 events will stretch across the south east on 30 November.
From Dover in the east, to Banbury in the north and the Isle of Wight in the south, UNISON and other union members will gather together against government ministers’ proposals to cut pensions rights.
“I think it will be an incredible day,” says UNISON south east regional secretary Phil Wood says: “So many public servants out on the streets at the same time – all arguing for the same thing.”
The two main events in the region will take place in Southampton and Oxford, where there will be marches and rallies, with 10,000 union members and supporters expected in Southampton.
Mr Wood says the mood among UNISON members is getting better all the time, with growing optimism about the show of strength on the day.
“I think it will be a demonstration like we’ve never seen before. It’s going to be huge – absolutely massive.”
