Nurses can’t cure carnival fever – 25 years of South Connections

Award-winning carnival group South Connections will be celebrating 25 years of sounds and sequins at Notting Hill carnival this weekend.

The band, which is sponsored by UNISON, is made up of hundreds of health workers, including nurses and midwives, from across South London.

South Connections has grown over the years and scooped a number of awards, including Best Historical Band Award and Carnival King and Queen.

Two UNISON party floats will be pumping out music to celebrate Afro-Caribbean culture, history and heritage and carnival-goers can catch a glimpse of South Connections
