UNISON Head of Local Government, Heather Wakefield, today accused Tory councils of making a political choice to cut council tax, along with jobs and services.
Thousands of council jobs are facing the axe across the UK, whilst councils have billions stashed away in unallocated reserves, and were awarded a 4% above inflation settlement from central government this year.
