Commenting on Government plans to create 47,000 jobs for young people, in a drive to tackle youth unemployment Dave Prentis, General Secretary of UNISON, said:
“The announcement of funding to create 47,000 jobs for young people is welcome. Young people have been hit hard by the recession, and need help to get them started in life.
“UNISON will be working to make sure that apprenticeships and
internships schemes are good quality, and are not a substitute for real jobs.”
