UNIONS OUTRAGED AT OFSTED PRIVATISATION PLANS

UNISON, the Public and Commercial Services Union, (PCS) and First Division

Association (FDA) today (Dec 4) condemned plans to privatise early years

inspections, saying it will drive down standards and could put the safety of

young children at risk. Early education and childcare inspectors work for

Ofsted and have the vital task of ensuring that nurseries, summer play

schemes, pre-schools and childminding services for children are safe and

meet educational standards.
