CHANCELLOR SHOULD USE PRE-BUDGET STATEMENT TO SAFEGUARD JOBS AND HOMES AND BOOST CONFIDENCE

UNISON General Secretary, Dave Prentis, has called on the Chancellor to use

his pre-budget report to produce a confidence-boosting package that

protects jobs, homes, pensions and living standards of working people.

The union wants a combination of tax cuts and credits, a windfall tax on

energy company profits and measures to stop people who are struggling to

pay their mortgages from losing their homes.

Dave Prentis said:
