UNISON Welcomes Tough Line on Offensive Behaviour in Hospitals

UNISON, the UK’s largest health union, today welcomed the move towards implementing tough new measures against nuisance behaviour in hospitals and NHS premises, as a step in the right direction.

The Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill, currently having its second reading, makes it an offence for a person to refuse to leave NHS premises having caused a nuisance or disturbance. Anyone acting in this way can be forcibly removed by trained staff and charged.
