UNISON General Secretary, Dave Prentis, will welcome leading
Parliamentarians, ministers, civil servants, trade unionists and charityactivists to a celebration to commemorate the bicentenary of the passing of the 1807 Abolition of the Slave Trade Act this week. This major event will
commemorate the abolition of the inhumane trans-Atlantic slave trade and acknowledge the heroic resistance of millions of enslaved people in this struggle.
