UNISON General Secretary Dave Prentis today said that reports from around the country show that more than a million workers have turned out to support local government workers in their fight to keep their pension rights.
Claims by the Local Government Association of a low turn out have been proved wildly incorrect as local council services have ground to a halt across the country.
Rallies, pickets and marches right across the country are continuing to take place, demonstrating the anger and utter frustration felt by Local Government Pension Scheme members, who are being told to work longer or get less pension.
