Modern matron and UNISON member, Barbara Featherstone, was today (12 October) presented with a prestigious Mary Seacole award at a ceremony held in London. Barbara is employed as a modern matron at Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Trust where she specialises in working with older people suffering with mental health illness.
The annual awards are funded by the Department of Health for black and minority ethnic (BME) nurses, midwives and health visitors in clinical practice in the NHS in England. They were set up to honour Mary Seacole
