UNISON, the UK’s largest union will today ( Monday 24 May) sign an agreement with the UK’s largest university – the Open University – with the common goal of providing greater learning opportunities for UNISON members.
The agreement cements an ongoing relationship between the two organisations, which has given thousands of UNISON members access to higher education. The Open University courses provide a gateway to professional qualifications often denied to low paid workers and, with the support of employers, a new chance to develop a successful career path.
Under the agreement, UNISON will work with the OU to better link their training programmes to the university
