Conference welcomes the presentation at the 2024 WET Seminar from the organisation, Violation Tracker UK which investigates and publicises corporate regulatory infringements in the UK.
Their data sources include the Drinking Water Inspectorate, the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency and the Water Services Regulation Authority. The infringements identified have a direct impact on members terms and conditions through diverting resources towards fines.
Conference believes that UNISON should also be a major player in assisting their work in relation to our Service Group and calls on the SGE to work with Violation Tracker, engaging other service groups as appropriate, to assess the scope for joint working which will ultimately benefit UNISON members employed in the WET Service Group.
