Conference recognises the need for the Police & Justice service group to engage with the college to ensure so far as we are able, that the interests of Police Staff are represented adequately in their own right and not overshadowed by issues relating to police officers. We have been given the opportunity to have position on the various boards of the college and it is the expectation of this conference that these positions will be filled.
The influence of the college within policing will no doubt increase over time and current aspirations may well be realised. There will undoubtedly be some impact upon our members and we must do all in our power to support the needs of the membership so that issues arising from the business of the college have a reasoned and favourable impact upon them.
Conference therefore calls upon the Service Group Executive (SGE) to:
1)Fill the seats offered on the relative boards of the college.
2)Provide regular updates on the business of the college where its work impacts upon Police Staff.
3)Engage fully with branches on any consultation arising from the work of the college where it impacts upon Police Staff.
