Conference notes that equality is the centre of everything UNISON does.
Conference welcomes the new role of Equality Rep within UNISON and the workplace.
Conference notes that many of our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) members face discrimination and inequality in the workplace on a daily basis.
Conference notes the importance of having Equality Reps in every workplace ensuring our LGBT members are all treated with dignity, fairness and as an equal.
Conference calls on the National LGBT Committee to:
1.Continue to promote the role of Equality Reps within the branches and workplace;
2.Develop and promote a bargaining agenda which will see the Equality Rep gain the same statutory rights for facility time as Health & Safety Reps, etc.
