This Conference is concerned that there is no provision for service groups to be fully represented on national self organised group (SOGs) and vice versa.
There is provision regionally for all SOGs to be represented on regional service group committees. This appears to be out of line if this does not extend to national bodies.
This Conference calls upon the National Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Committee (NLGBTC) to:
1.Explore options for providing at least one seat for an LGBT representative onto each service groups’ national committee;
2.Liaise with service groups to explore the need to provide an observer seat to the self organised groups (SOGs);
3.Discuss this with the national service group liaison committee;
4.Bring back a report on this issue to Conference 2008.
