Conference recognises the importance of effective communications in informing all retired members of information which affect their interests. These include matters in which the National Retired Members’ Committee is engaged on our behalf, in order that appropriate and timely advice may be given and support for policy generated. Equally, the views and concerns of members at branch level require to be taken note of in time to assist their representatives at region and on the National Retired Members’ Committee.

Conference requests the National Retired Members’ Committee to report within six months, through all regional retired members’ committees, on a comprehensive policy for achieving effective and workable communications with retired members, including communication from branches. Communications to be focused on campaigns and issues relevant to retired members and all communications to be accessible by retired members’ committee and branch members on a regular basis.
