Conference
Police Staff Service Group Conference 2006
Date
22 July 2006
Decision
Carried as Amended

Conference is alarmed at the growing threat to Police Staff jobs posed by the sharing of Police Control Rooms with other Emergency Services.

Workforce Modernisation, Force Restructuring and Regionalisation work on the simple basis of efficiency gains.

Therefore Conference instructs the Service Group Executive to:

1)liaise with the Home Office to identify the extent and future plans for shared police control rooms and call centres;

2)identify the impact of these changes on jobs, pay and conditions of service;

3)provide advice to branches and support those resisting such changes, including industrial action in accordance with the rules;

4)liaise with the other emergency services to seek support in resisting any call to shared control rooms.
