This Conference is concerned about the lack of consistency shown by the Home Office in the provision of funds for secondments to police associations and trade unions. Funding is provided at a national level for police federation secondments at all ranks and the National Black Police Association (NPBA).
Conference recognises that the Service Group Executive has raised the issue of the secondment for the SGE Chair, with no support for this from the Home Office.
Conference instructs the Service Group Executuve to:
1)continue to press the Home Office for this funding using the precedent set for Police Federation and NBPA;
2)as part of the work currently being undertaken by the SGE, open talks on police branches having at least one full-time secondment and this incorporated into the PSC facilities for trade unions.
