The Police Staff Service Group is still in its infancy and since its inception, much work has been done by our Service Group Executive to raise the profile of UNISON members employed within the Police Service.
With the introduction of the Police Reform Act and the many other initiatives being introduced in the Police Service, the Police Staff Service Group has become the fastest growing Service Group in UNISON. This has created a mammoth workload for our Service Group Executive, yet this is all done in addition to the work they perform within their own Forces.
Conference would like to put on record their thanks and appreciation to the members of the Service Group Executive for their hard work and dedication.
Our current status within UNISON is that we currently do not have the full-time of a National Officer. In light of the fact that we are the fastest growing Service Group and considering the heavy work agenda and ongoing changes within the Police Service, Conference urgently seeks that additional national resources are afforded to the Police Staff Service Group as a matter of urgency.
