The Scottish Region applauds the efforts of the National Black Members’ Committee (NBMC) for their continued encouragement, and support to the regional and setting up of the black members’ self-organised groups at branch level. The Scottish Region believes a lot can still be done, to enable self -organised groups to achieve their potential, in order to empower their members.

Therefore, the Scottish Black Members’ Committee appeals to conference to support the motion to enable NBMC to:

1) ensure support for the development of black members self-organised groups at branch and regional levels;

2) maximise the recruitment of black members;

3) support the training initiatives at regional and branch levels for all black members, and SOGs;

4) set up the specific guidelines, supporting work of all black members’ based SOGs, at all levels.
