- Conference
- Police Service Group Conference 2003
- Date
- 21 February 2003
- Decision
- Carried
Conference understands and supports the close ties between UNISON and the Labour party and would wish to strengthen those ties. Conference also recognises the important role that the other two main political parties have with regard to the police service. Conference believes that key speakers from the Conservative Party and the Liberal Democrat Party be invited to speak at Police Support Staff Conferences, seminars and national events. It is important that we build relationships with anyone who has any influence on the police service.
Conference instructs the Service Group Executive to contact the Conservative and Liberal Democrat Parties with a view to starting a dialogue and obtaining speakers for future events.
