Staff in the health service are under more pressure than ever before.
With over 100,000 vacancies across the NHS in England alone, staffing levels are often pushed to the limits of safety.
UNISON is the leading trade union in the health service and has been at the forefront of demands for safe staffing levels.
With a potential new government and facing unprecedented workforce pressures now is the time for UNISON’s Nursing family to discuss and debate the current crisis, formulate policy and decide on our campaign priorities. Join us to share you experience and ideas.
The UNISON Health Safe Staffing Forum will be held on 3 March 2020 at:
Warwick University,
Radcliffe Conference Centre,
Coventry CV4 7SH
The seminar will begin registration at 9.30am and finish at 5.00pm.
The forum provides an opportunity for members from all parts of the nursing family to come together to hear from a range of speakers and participate in workshops to help in formulating UNISON’s policy and campaigns.
The forum will also provide an opportunity for members to network in regional groups and attendance will count towards CPD hours for revalidation (all attendees will be issued with a CPD certificate).
Branches are asked to encourage stewards and members to attend. Spaces at the forum are limited and we encourage you to ensure the members you put forward reflect the diversity of our wider membership.
The cost of the venue and all materials will be met centrally. There will be no registration fee for branches to pay but branches will be asked to pay £90 for delegates who will require to stay at Warwick the night before the forum as well as travel costs.
Registration fees:
- Accommodation at Warwick – room, bed and breakfast on 2nd March: £90.
Branches are required to book and fund travel and any additional subsistence costs for those attending.
How to register members to attend:
- Complete one application form (below), for each member attending the seminar.
- You can submit completed form/s (below) to the seminar organisers either by post or email (see attached form for details.)
- Pay the seminar fees in full either by bank transfer to:
