UNISON’s young members’ weekend brings together more than 100 young members from across the UK to find out more about the union and, more importantly, how they can play a part in the union’s campaigning to defend public services.

Weekend costs – including accommodation, meals, travel, childcare and other appropriately incurred expenses – will be met by UNISON.

The venue

In the heart of Glasgow, adjacent to Glasgow Central Station stands the historic Grand Central Hotel, winner of 7 awards at the Scottish Hotel Awards 2013 including Scottish Hotel of the Year.

A much-loved icon in the city, the hotel has undergone a 20 million pound refurbishment transforming it into one of Glasgow’s most stylish, conference, training, wedding, banqueting and short break destinations and once again takes its place as Glasgow’s leading four-star hotel.

Who should attend

Members wishing to attend must be under 27 years of age on 18 May.

Each region is entitled to send up to 10 young members, with each region’s group being at least 50% young women. Priority is also urged for first time attenders and those from traditionally-disadvantaged groups.
