Women Hong Kongers: rights at work in the UK – webinar

Calling all Hong Kong women working in public services!

所有在公共服務部門工作的香港人女性請注意！

Around 180,000 Hong Kongers have arrived in the UK on BNO visas in the past couple of years. Many of them are women and some are now helping to deliver a whole range of public services including work in hospitals, care homes and schools. But large numbers of women are also struggling to get into paid work.

過去幾年，約有18萬名香港人透過BNO簽證來到英國。當中許多人是女性，其中一些人現正協助提供各種公共服務，包括在醫院、護理院和學校工作。然而，仍有大量女性難以找到有薪工作。

UNISON knows it can be especially hard for women to find their feet in a new country and that you may have lots of questions, including:

• How do I find a decent job in the UK?
• What are my rights as a woman in the workplace?
• What should I do if I experience threats of or actual violence or harassment at work?

UNISON believes that no woman should face inequality or discrimination at work and campaigns for improvements to women’s rights at work and in the wider community. SheNet is a Hong Kongers’ women’s group working to provide advice and support to newly arrived women Hong Kong BNOs. Hong Kong Labour Rights Monitor campaigns for Hong Kong workers’ rights in the UK and abroad.
